What mindfulness can bring to the individual
Scientific studies have demonstrated beyond doubt that people who practise mindfulness show long- lasting and positive changes in well-being, and reduced levels of physical and psychological stress. Mindfulness brings about modifications in areas of the brain associated with regulating emotion, creativity, decision-making and empathy so that people experience greater satisfaction and efficiency in their professional and personal lives. People practising mindfulness speak about their ability to make better choices, to respond to life rather than simply react in a habitual way to their circumstances, and their rich sense of truly being alive.

Relationship and team building
People often report that despite the management courses and personal development training they have undertaken, their self- awareness evaporates just when they need it most, namely when they are stressed.
When we are stressed and under pressure, our coping mechanisms can give rise to a chain of destructive and automatic reactions which negatively impact upon our ability to create and maintain effective relationships, access our creativity and achieve our potential. This, in turn, leads to increased stress levels...and the cycle continues.
A taster workshop: In this session, you’ll be introduced to the basics of mindfulness and meditation. You’ll have the chance to experience their impact for yourself during short, guided meditations and activities that encourage open mindedness and exploration of your own experience. The workshop is led by Kate Fitzroy, Accredited Instructor in Mindfulness, Respira Vida Breathworks, a member of the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers, which includes institutions such as the Universities of Oxford, Bangor and Exeter.
