meditaThis retreat will help you find a path to well-being and provide you with practices which reduce, even dissolve, stress and pain. The retreat programme allows you time to relax and enjoy the restful and beautiful natural surroundings while providing a structured course where you learn mindfulness practices that will transform your relation to challenging conditions and experience.

During the course, participants learn awareness of the breath as a foundation for mindfulness. Breath awareness is a way of directly experiencing the present moment and the fluidity of experience itself. It also helps in dissolving the tension that produces increased stress and even pain. You will learn how to inhabit the body with awareness as it moves, and how to bring mindfulness into daily life. Importantly, you will learn how to bring a kindly awareness to your own unpleasant or painful experience, how to cultivate kindness and equanimity towards yourself and others, and how to appreciate and enjoy pleasurable experiences.

The retreat provides a mix of participative workshops where key practices and ideas are explored, short sessions of gentle physical movement based on yoga, time for quiet reflection and rest, and space to simply enjoy being in the Sierra Calderona, with its abundant pinewoods, plants and clear air. If you want to see the outstanding natural beauty of the place and surroundings, check out this photo album of the retreat centre

The retreat is delivered in English but at the same time this retreat is delivered in Spanish.

A typical day:

  • 08.00 Body scan meditation / mindful movements
  • 09.00 Breakfast
  • 10.30 Mindfulness workshop
  • 12.30 Coffee break
  • 13.00 Reading, reflection, habit releasers
  • 14.00 Lunch
  • 17.30 Mindfulness workshop
  • 19.30 Reading, reflection, habit releasers
  • 20.00 Evening meal 
  • 21.00 Meditation (30 minutes approximately)

Venue:
The Retreat Centre is located in the Mountains near Segart (half and hour outside Valencia) located in the Sierra Calderona National Park, 29kms inland from the Port of Sagunto. See in google map - photo album of the retreat centre

By air: There are frequent flights to Valencia airport, which is well connected to the centre of Valencia. Alicante and Barcelona airports are further away, but there is a good rail connection from both cities to Valencia.

By Train from Valencia you take a local train to Sagunto:

By Bus from Valencia Bus Station, stop no. 130 to Sagunto. From Sagunto you need to catch a Taxi to the "Casa de salud" which costs aprox 20€.

If you are traveling by car the directions are as follows:

  • Leave Valencia on the A7 towards Barcelona
  • Take the A23 towards Teruel
  • Take the exit no 7 towards Albalat dels Tarongers/Segart/Estivella
  • Continue on this road towards Segart
  • Go through the village of Segart, there is only one main road
  • On leaving the village, take a right going upwards. After 1.5km sign you will see on the right a boulder with the name of the house. The road is quite steep.
